Full job description

Purpose: Performs general maintenance and repairs to both Low Pressure (LP) and, High Pressure (HP) steam and High Pressure (HP) hot water piping systems at Logan International Airport. Performs general maintenance, repairs, inspections and testing of fire protection systems at Logan International Airport. Education Ability to read; basic oral, written and mathematical skills required. Manual skills and the ability to operate machinery required. Experience 3 - 5 years experience in maintenance, repair and testing of low and high pressure steam, high temperature hot water and fire protection systems required. UNIQUE EXPERTISE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATIONS ? Massachusetts Journeyman Pipe Fitters license required. ? Ability to obtain Massachusetts Journeyman Sprinkler fitter license as specified by Aviation Management. ? Massachusetts Class D (III) driver?s license unrestricted except for corrective lenses and automatic transmission required. ? Ability to pass airfield driving test and obtain Aerodrome Ramp and Apron License. ? Ability to attain Massport security clearance. ? Knowledge of steam plant operations and systems. ? Working knowledge of LP and HP steam piping and high temperature hot water piping. ? Working knowledge of repairing and re-packing valves. ? Ability to pass a Massport drug screen.
