Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Software Validation Engineer to help ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of critical charging infrastructure. This role focuses on building, maintaining, and expanding Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) validation platforms used to test Supercharger subsystems before deployment. The ideal candidate has experience developing automated test frameworks, working with embedded systems, and validating complex hardware/software products. This position offers strong growth potential into senior technical or team leadership responsibilities. What You'll Do -Develop and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) test environments for Supercharger subsystems. -Create simulated environments that emulate vehicles, charging equipment, power cabinets, and other connected systems. -Design and execute automated regression testing for charging workflows, system availability, billing functionality, and site operations. -Build and maintain automation frameworks to improve product quality and testing coverage. -Support functional safety validation efforts and generate compliance reports. -Partner closely with firmware, software, hardware, and QA teams to identify issues and improve system reliability. -Support validation efforts for new charging products, including Superchargers and Mega Chargers.

Skills and Requirements

-4+ years of experience in software validation, test automation, systems engineering, or a related field. -Experience with HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) and/or SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) testing environments. -Production-level experience with Python and C or C+-Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing methodologies. -Functional safety testing or safety compliance experience. -EV charging, automotive, energy storage, renewable energy, or power systems experience.
