Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Clinical Engineering Director for a leading healthcare technology management organization. This individual will provide strategic leadership across a large, multi-site healthcare network, serving as a key advisor to executive stakeholders while driving operational excellence and Clinical Engineering performance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in complex healthcare environments, can confidently engage with C-suite executives, and has a proven ability to build high-performing teams.
This role requires someone who can successfully balance customer satisfaction, operational execution, and financial performance while leading transformative initiatives across multiple facilities. The Director will collaborate closely with healthcare executives, supply chain leadership, and site directors to advance technology management strategies, improve regulatory readiness, and deliver measurable business outcomes that positively impact patient care. This is a high-visibility leadership opportunity offering significant influence, growth potential, and the ability to shape Clinical Engineering programs across a major health system.
Responsibilities:
Lead Clinical Engineering strategy and operations across a multi-site healthcare system. Serve as a trusted advisor to hospital executives and health system leadership. Partner with healthcare leadership to improve operational performance and technology management. Drive regulatory readiness and compliance across all locations. Lead capital planning initiatives and technology investment strategies. Oversee financial performance, budgeting, contracts, and operational metrics. Build, mentor, and develop Clinical Engineering directors, managers, and teams. Align multiple stakeholders across hospital presidents, supply chain leaders, and operational teams. Support clinical asset management, cybersecurity, equipment lifecycle management, and related healthcare technology programs. Implement continuous improvement initiatives and solve complex operational challenges. Maintain a strong onsite presence to guide stakeholders and strengthen Clinical Engineering operations. Ensure consistency and communication across a highly matrixed healthcare environment.
What They're Looking For:
Strong Clinical Engineering leadership experience within a healthcare environment. Ability to build trust and relationships with executive stakeholders. Proven experience leading large teams across multiple sites. Strategic mindset with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across a matrixed organization. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and balancing multiple priorities.
Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Management, Engineering, Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of Clinical Engineering experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and operations
- Strong healthcare industry knowledge, ideally Clinical Engineering-specific
- Experience managing multi-site healthcare operations
- Regulatory compliance expertise (Joint Commission, CMS, healthcare regulations)
- Financial management, budgeting, capital planning, and contract management experience
- Medical equipment management experience
- Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work onsite and build strong client relationships
- Experience influencing and partnering with senior healthcare executives
- Strategic planning and operational leadership capabilities
- Soft skills: patience, discipline, grit, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Experience leading highly matrixed organizations
- Previous responsibility for large healthcare networks or IDNs
- Experience supporting Clinical Asset Management (CAM), Cybersecurity, and Centurion programs
- Experience navigating healthcare leadership transitions
- Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or related advanced degree)
- Proven track record building and developing Clinical Engineering leaders
