Friendship NY. Accord Corp. Early Head Start Teacher. FT. Benefits. $19.52- $33.19/Hour. Job Overview: Prepares infants and toddlers and their families for Kindergarten success by preparing and implementing curriculum activities; conducting screening and assessments, maintaining classroom routine and structure; and ensuring a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment. Characteristics of an Effective Center Manager: The ideal candidate will be nurturing and responsive to each child and family's unique needs. They will show empathy and the ability to connect and care for children with differing abilities and families with varying circumstances. Head Start Teachers need to be organized and efficient, display sound technology skills, and be adaptable to change. They must be committed to making a difference in the lives of children, families, and the communities in which we live/serve. Qualifications: EDUCATION: Child Development Associates Credential for Infant and Toddler Caregivers -or- Credential program equivalent to Infant/Toddler CDA (120 hours of training in infant/toddler caregiving and 480 hours of professional experience caring for infants and/or toddlers) -or- An associates, bachelors, or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or a degree in a related field with 18 credit hours in CDA equivalent coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infants and toddlers. License Requirements: Current, valid drivers license and clean driving record. EXPERIENCE: Six months experience teaching preschool children required for related degree. Must demonstrate competency to provide effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions, plan and implement learning experiences that ensure effective curriculum implementation and use of assessment and promote childrens developmental progress, including children with disabilities and dual language learners.
