Full job description

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a highly technical, builder-minded Principal DevOps Engineer to help transform and modernize how our business operates. This is not a traditional DevOps role focused solely on infrastructure maintenance and operational support. We are looking for a senior individual contributor who can identify inefficiencies, automate manual processes, leverage AI technologies, and drive meaningful business outcomes through engineering.

This person will play a critical role in shaping the future of our platform and internal operations, partnering across Product, Engineering, and Leadership to build scalable solutions that eliminate repetitive work and accelerate innovation. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable discussing strategy, designing systems, writing code, and implementing automation.

This is a high-impact role for someone who wants to influence the direction of a growing engineering organization while remaining hands-on with technology.

This role can pay 135-160k based on years of experience and skillset.

Skills and Requirements

  • 5+ years years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or related disciplines. •Proven track record modernizing legacy systems and driving large-scale automation initiatives. •Strong software engineering background with hands-on coding experience. •Experience building internal developer platforms, automation frameworks, or scalable engineering systems. •Deep understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. •Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, containerization, and orchestration technologies. •Experience implementing observability, monitoring, and operational excellence practices. •Ability to influence technical direction across teams while remaining a hands-on contributor. •Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to partner across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience building or operating LLM infrastructure: inference gateways, eval/observability tooling, agentic orchestration.

  • Data-pipeline and streaming/CDC experience.

  • Security or identity background; familiarity with post-quantum cryptography or supply-chain security.

  • Prior experience at an early-stage startup.

We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action employer that believes everyone matters. Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or the recruiting process, please send a request to [email protected].
