Job Description About the team The Dev-Access Visibility team in Platform Security Core builds Access Analyzer and Security Data Filters. These products help ServiceNow customers understand, analyze, and reduce access risk across their instances. We’re also expanding into AI-assisted access analysis. What you’ll do

• Design, build, and ship features for Access Analyzer on the Now Platform, from design through release
• Develop and maintain server-side (Glide/JavaScript) and UI components, plus REST APIs
• Work with platform security constructs such as ACLs, roles, and access evaluation to deliver accurate, performant access insights
• Own features end to end: design, implementation, testing, documentation, and production support
• Contribute to quality: unit and automated tests, code reviews, defect triage, and release readiness
• Collaborate with Product, QE, Release Management, and other Platform Security teams
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity while maintaining code quality
• Mentor peers through design discussions and code reviews

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or Java; solid grasp of object-oriented design and data structures
• Hands-on experience with relational databases, including strong SQL skills (queries, joins, indexing) and MySQL
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs and server-side application logic
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD practices
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to explain technical decisions to peers and stakeholders
• Demonstrated ownership: takes work from ambiguity to delivery

Preferred

• Experience with the ServiceNow platform (Glide, scoped apps, ACLs, Flow Designer, UI frameworks)
• Background in security, identity and access management, or authorization systems
• Familiarity with policy engines or access-control models (RBAC/ABAC)
• Experience with large-scale data processing or query performance tuning
• Exposure to LLM/AI-agent development, or experience using AI coding tools in daily workflow
• Experience working in a regulated or compliance-sensitive environment

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $125,700 - $194,800, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
