Full job description

Description

We are seeking a candidate with a passion for e-commerce and a desire to make a real impact on global customers in a Day One business. Our mission is to expand selection from US-based retailers and brand owners worldwide. Although we are already a multi-billion-dollar business, we believe we are just getting started, as less than 5% of US-based sellers have started their international journey. This role offers the opportunity to innovate and elevate the seller and customer experience on a global scale.

As a Strategic Account Manager on the Amazon Global Selling team, you will work with top Amazon.com sellers, helping them expand their online retail business to Amazon's stores worldwide. You will work with sellers leadership teams, identifying key decision-makers and aligning them to prioritize actions required to expand their online retail business to Amazon's global stores such as Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.com.mx. You will build and cultivate strong relationships with sellers in your portfolio and be a trusted e-commerce and global sales advisor to the leadership in seller organizations. You will partner with external service providers to help your sellers obtain the required tax and product-level compliance certifications for selling in new markets. You will be comfortable with long sales cycles, often lasting more than 8 months, taking sellers through step-by-step processes to launch in a new market. Success in this role will be evaluated based on the scale of the sellers you manage, the number of new markets into which you help your sellers expand, unique selection additions in global markets, and the global sales revenue you drive from sellers in your portfolio. You will utilize a wide range of sales and negotiation skills and work across cross-functional areas to drive the performance of sellers in your portfolio.

In addition to your day-to-day role working with sellers, you will also contribute to business development and identify the correct input metrics that drive business growth for sellers in Amazon's global stores. You will use customer feedback, market growth trends, competitive best practices, and Gen AI developments to suggest new features required in our products and promotional programs to accelerate seller growth or improve the selling partner experience.

Ideal candidates will thrive in an ambiguous and dynamic environment where they must develop, evolve, and implement business strategies to deliver results, have relentlessly high standards, and operate as business owners with end-to-end responsibility to deliver business growth.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with CXO-level stakeholders in sellers' organizations to drive decisions and actions required to launch sellers' businesses on Amazon's global online stores.

  • Pitch CXO-level stakeholders on the benefits of selling their products on Amazon's global online stores in Europe, Asia, and South America.

  • Guide sellers through the step-by-step process for global account registration, KYC, tax and product compliance, etc.

  • Provide ongoing post-launch support on selection expansion, deals, sponsored ads, etc., to help sellers grow sales on Amazon's global stores.

  • Prepare and conduct monthly business reviews with CXO stakeholders in sellers' organizations regarding progress and strategies to increase their revenue on Amazon's global websites.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and program leaders to drive business growth.

  • Pilot new initiatives and iterate the existing best practices to improve productivity and impact.

  • Identify automation opportunities for manual tasks and partner with Gen AI product team to scale automation across our WW global selling team.

About the team

The Amazon Global Selling team's vision is to be the first choice for all US retail businesses to go global. We operate with the agility of a startup and a singular mission to empower US-based sellers to expand their businesses worldwide. The US Global Selling (USGS) team owns the full business lifecycle of North American sellers, expanding them into 20 global markets. Our mission is to make US selections available to customers worldwide. We're dedicated to simplifying global expansion and international selling for US-based sellers, working closely with them on both tech and non-tech aspects of product, supply chain, compliance, and international logistics.
