Job Title: Onboarding Coordinator (Contract Opportunity)

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA

Duration: Contract

Schedule: Full-Time

We are seeking a detail-oriented Onboarding Coordinator to support a growing team during a contract assignment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with people, and has a passion for creating a positive onboarding experience for new hires.

The Onboarding Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and efficient onboarding process by coordinating new hire documentation, communicating with internal teams, tracking compliance requirements, and serving as a primary point of contact for incoming employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of the new hire onboarding process from offer acceptance through first day

  • Prepare and distribute onboarding paperwork and ensure timely completion

  • Track background checks, drug screens, I-9 documentation, and other pre-employment requirements

  • Schedule new hire orientations, training sessions, and onboarding meetings

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for new employees, answering questions and providing updates

  • Partner with HR, hiring managers, and other departments to ensure a seamless onboarding experience

  • Maintain accurate employee records and update HR systems as needed

  • Monitor onboarding timelines and provide regular status updates to stakeholders

  • Assist with process improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in onboarding, HR coordination, recruiting support, administration, or a related field

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems preferred

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting high-volume onboarding or recruiting processes

  • Knowledge of employment documentation and compliance requirements

  • Familiarity with HRIS, ATS, or onboarding platforms
