Emergency Department
Our Emergency Department unit is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. Are you looking to increase your knowledge base? Our Emergency Department leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member.
Emergency Department
Patient Population: All ages, acuities, stages of life and types.
Patient Ratios: 1:4
Number of Beds: 29 beds
Department Specifics : Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center with LVO capability, Chest Pain Center, Robust EMS Partnership, CT Scanner within the ED, Collaborative relationship with Physicians, Self-scheduling, Certified Emergency Nurse fees paid, Evidence-Based Practices, Trauma Training, Triage Training, Stroke Certification.
Shift: Seasonal Evenings, 10:45am-11:15pm; 13 weeks (1st week is a full week of Orientation, followed by 3-12 hour shifts per week)
Experience requirement: 2 years of recent hospital acute care ED experience (not holdover or freestanding)

Job Summary
As a Seasonal RN, you align with our nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, implement care plans. Monitor patient progress is also vital. Your knowledge will help patients navigate the healthcare system safely, reducing complications. You will use your expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment.
Essential Functions of the Role

Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards.

Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly. Make adjustments as needed.

Creating safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff.

Managing emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.

Qualifications

A degree from a recognized nursing program or two years of relevant work experience

A valid Registered Nurse license

The ability to obtain a Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of employment.
