We’re seeking an Entry-Level Water Compliance Consultant to support onsite permitting, monitoring, inspections, and other environmental compliance activities. You’ll have the opportunity to build your technical knowledge and gain hands-on experience while working alongside experienced professionals on our Water Compliance team.

Based out of our Cleveland, Ohio, office, and working full time from a client’s facility, you’ll collaborate with local and global experts to support the delivery of high-quality solutions for our clients. You’ll assist with preparing reports, presentations, technical documentation, and other project deliverables in accordance with Jacobs’ quality processes.

In this role, you’ll support water compliance activities related to areas such as stormwater and wastewater while developing your understanding of applicable environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and industry best practices. You’ll work closely with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders while building your technical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Throughout your work, you’ll help champion Jacobs’ commitment to safety, quality, and the well-being of our teams.

This position will require daily travel to a local client site, as well as occasional travel for team workshops, presentations, and site visits. The role will be predominantly office-based at a client site, although periodic field assignments may be required.

If you’re interested in starting your career in water compliance, solving challenging environmental problems, and learning from experienced professionals, we’ll provide opportunities for you to grow your skills and contribute to meaningful solutions for our clients and communities.

We value collaboration and believe that in-person interactions are crucial for both our culture and client delivery. We empower employees with our hybrid working policy, allowing them to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations, enabling them to deliver their best work when permitted by client contracts.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and teammates.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Interest in developing knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations and regulatory processes.

  • Ability to be onsite at a local client facility daily and travel up to 25%.

  • U.S. citizenship.

  • Internship, co-op, research, coursework, or project experience related to water quality, stormwater, wastewater, environmental permitting, or compliance.

  • Exposure to environmental regulations, permitting, sampling, monitoring, or inspection activities through academic or professional experience.

  • Interest in pursuing relevant professional licenses, certifications, or credentials as your career develops.
