SET THE COURSE

This position helps bring Tommy Bahama’s island-lifestyle brand to life online, contributing to intuitive and inspiring digital experiences that deepen customer engagement and drive B2C eCommerce growth. Working closely with and learning from the Lead Front End Web Developer and senior team members, this role builds foundational front-end skills while supporting Creative, Marketing, and Development in delivering an online shopping journey that reflects the quality customers expect from the brand.WHAT YOU’LL BUILD

Product pages that make it easy to fall for the next hero print. Search and navigation that get customers to what they want, fast. Seasonal launches and campaigns that land flawlessly on day one. Checkout flows that stay out of the customer’s way. These are the moments you’ll build, refine, and own.

WHY JOIN US

You’ll join a small, tight-knit development team where your ideas are heard and your code ships fast. We build with modern tools — Angular, TypeScript, and AI-assisted development — on a brand with real momentum and a customer base that notices the details. You’ll get hands-on mentorship from experienced developers, exposure to real production work from day one, and a clear path to grow your skills and take on more ownership over time.

BE THE ISLAND GUIDE

Key Responsibilities

You’ll help turn creative vision into a shopping experience customers love — writing code for features big and small, with support and feedback from senior developers along the way.

  • Develop front‑end features using the Angular framework, TypeScript/NgRx, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, translating creative designs into clean, working code for a B2C eCommerce platform, with guidance and code review from senior developers.

  • Integrate and consume SAP REST OCC APIs to support dynamic application functionality.

  • Build and maintain integrations with third‑party platforms including Adobe Dynamic Media, Google Maps, Bazaarvoice, Adobe Target, Adobe Experience Manager, Klaviyo, and others.

  • Support CMS‑driven site content and develop new CMS components, templates, and features.

  • Deliver a polished, pixel-perfect experience across every browser, platform, and viewport our customers use.

  • Develop and maintain responsive, mobile‑first website experiences optimized for phones, tablets, and desktops.

  • Implement SEO‑focused development practices for eCommerce, including SSR, structured data, canonical URLs, sitemaps, and an understanding of AEO/GEO considerations.

  • Execute time‑sensitive website updates such as promotional events, product launches, and seasonal campaigns.

  • Assist with gathering requirements and communicating with non‑technical stakeholders, with support from senior developers on more complex or ambiguous requests.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve straightforward usability, performance, and functional issues, escalating more complex problems to senior developers.

  • Team up with Creative to bring bold designs to life — building, implementing, and testing pages, interactive components, and UI enhancements customers will actually notice.

  • Stay curious about emerging web technologies and practices, and bring new ideas to the team for discussion.

  • Build and test UI components for WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility compliance, including semantic HTML, ARIA attributes, and screen reader compatibility.

  • Write and maintain automated unit and end-to-end tests (e.g., Jasmine/Karma, Cypress) to ensure code quality and prevent regressions.

  • Implement and maintain analytics and tag management integrations (e.g., Adobe Analytics/GA4, Adobe Launch/Google Tag Manager) to support site tracking and reporting.

  • Manage day-to-day tasks with guidance from the Lead Front End Web Developer and project management, prioritizing work as directed.

  • Actively participate in code reviews — both giving and receiving feedback — to build technical skills and absorb team coding standards and best practices.

ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE

  • 1–3 years of hands‑on web development experience

  • Core Technical Skills: Foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; exposure to Angular and TypeScript (through coursework, projects, or professional experience)

  • Preferred Technical Skills: NgRx, REST APIs, SCSS, Git, JSON, familiarity with a CMS platform such as Adobe Experience Manager, and interest in using AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT)

  • Accessibility, Testing & Analytics: Willingness to learn and apply WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility guidelines, automated testing frameworks (e.g., Jasmine/Karma, Cypress), and analytics/tag management tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, GA4, Adobe Launch, Google Tag Manager); prior exposure is a plus

  • Exposure to designing, developing, or testing B2C eCommerce or other consumer-facing websites (preferred, not required)

  • Familiarity with CMS platforms or components is a plus

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with external vendors and internal business stakeholders

  • Eagerness to learn, take feedback well, and grow into greater ownership of tasks and technical challenges over time

  • Working knowledge of relational databases (plus)

  • Experience with SAP Commerce Cloud Composable Framework (plus)

  • Familiarity with IDEs such as Eclipse or Visual Studio Code

Rate Range: $93,000.00 to $115,000.00 Annually

Multiple factors will vary the applicable rate of pay for this role, including an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skillset, as well as work location and available budget.
