The Owner Construction Safety Program Manager reports to the Technical Pre-Construction Services Director and provides safety and risk control oversight for construction projects across the organization. This role conducts site surveys and inspections, evaluates safety programs, and monitors supplier compliance with contractual requirements, OSHA regulations, and applicable agency rules and guidelines.
The position also provides risk engineering solutions tailored to project and owner needs while fostering strong contractor relationships. The Owner Construction Safety Program Manager ensures safety requirements are clearly communicated, consistently monitored, and effectively enforced throughout the project lifecycle.
A caregiver in this position works days, 8:00am—5:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Develop and maintain corporate construction safety manual, ensuring alignment with specific project construction safety plans.

Monitor contractors for compliance with established safety policies and procedures, inclusive of all applicable federal, state, and local governmental safety regulations.

Compiles and maintains safety performance data, statistics, and communicates results regularly.

Conducts safety surveys, including the preparation of project evaluations to record observations of safety performance. Makes appropriate corrective recommendations.

Attends, evaluates quality, and consistency of safety meetings. This individual will encourage contractor to conduct regular toolbox and other periodic safety meetings with project team.

Conducts accident investigations as required, prepares reports, suggests corrective action measures, and follows up with contractors to assure recommendations have been implemented.

Serves as a Technical Safety Advisor, providing safety consulting and advice to contractors regarding challenges arising on project.

Provides technical orientations and training on safety related topics.

Participates in professional organizations to maintain working knowledge of developments in the safety field.

Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Bachelor’s Degree in health & safety, construction management or related field
-
Certified OSHA 10/30 Hour Instructor
-
Certified First Aid/CPR Training
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
-
5 years health and safety experience in construction
-
Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
-
Occupational Health and Safety Technician
-
Construction Safety and Health Technician (CHST)
Physical Requirements:
-
Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
-
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
-
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and project meetings.
-
Ability to recognize and mitigate safety and health hazards on construction sites.
-
Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
-
May require periods of sitting, standing, and ability to walk to various locations throughout the health system, and to move about construction sites in various degrees of completion.
-
Must have normal or corrected vision.
-
Ability to clearly communicate by phone or in person.
-
Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel domestically and internationally. The position requires a passport and/or the ability to get a passport within a reasonable time frame.
-
Occasional lifting of 5 to 15 pounds.
