Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support a growing manufacturing company in Spokane, Washington. This position will shape the financial processes needed for a manufacturing environment by connecting operational activity with accurate, scalable accounting practices. Working closely with leadership, this role will strengthen controls, improve reporting, and help build efficient workflows across core accounting and operational finance functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead accounting support for manufacturing-related process and system initiatives, ensuring financial requirements are incorporated into design, setup, and ongoing improvements.

  • Create and refine procedures that connect purchasing, vendor activity, inventory movement, production costing, invoicing, and cash receipts to reliable accounting outcomes.

  • Oversee transaction flows and subledger activity to maintain accurate financial reporting, strong data integrity, and an efficient close process.

  • Collaborate with operations, technology, procurement, and business partners to align system configuration with accounting standards, reporting needs, and internal controls.

  • Strengthen month-end close activities by establishing reconciliations across inventory, payables, accruals, and other supporting ledgers tied to manufacturing operations.

  • Standardize high-volume and complex accounting transactions to improve consistency, audit readiness, and process scalability.

  • Direct billing and invoicing activities so they properly reflect production progress, delivery events, and contractual requirements.

  • Support cash management efforts by coordinating billing timing, collections activity, and working capital considerations with operational events.

  • Monitor transaction processing, review data accuracy, and resolve issues that affect financial records, customer billing, or vendor-related activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

  • At least 5 years of accounting experience, including time spent in public accounting is a must.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and manufacturing accounting principles, including inventory valuation, cost accounting, procure-to-pay activity, reconciliations, and month-end close.

  • Experience working with manufacturing operations, supply chain, procurement, warehouse, and production teams to translate business activity into accurate financial results.

  • Background with financial statement audits, internal controls, compliance, and accounting process improvement; public accounting experience is preferred.

  • Proficiency in general ledger management, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close within a manufacturing setting.
