Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician with over 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or electro-mechanics. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and industrial controls, with the ability to work independently and troubleshoot under pressure. Experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred, along with familiarity with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office. A willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays is required.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair processing and packaging equipment.

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and maintain proper documentation.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

  • Troubleshoot and repair control panels, motors, and power distribution systems.

  • Work with conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, and automated packaging equipment.

  • Perform mechanical alignments, bearing replacements, and belt tensioning.

  • Calibrate temperature sensors, flow meters, and pressure gauges.

  • Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.

  • Follow SOPs and maintain clean, safe workspaces.

  • Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and OSHA standards.

  • Understand food safety protocols and hygiene standards.

Essential Skills

  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and industrial controls.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

  • Experience with industrial sensors and troubleshooting.

  • Proficiency in working with mechanical systems like conveyors and pumps.

  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and OSHA standards.

  • Ability to follow SOPs and maintain clean, safe workspaces.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associates degree or technical certification in electromechanical technology, electrical engineering, or industrial maintenance.

  • High school diploma with extensive hands-on experience may be accepted.

  • 35 years of experience in manufacturing or food production environment.

  • Prior work with automated or robotic systems is a major plus.

  • Familiarity with CMMS systems like MP2 or SAP.

Work Environment

The work schedule is from 7am to 3pm, with a requirement to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, and work in varying temperature conditions. A team-oriented mindset is crucial to support cross-functional tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Brunswick, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $39.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
