Commissioning Engineer (Data Center Infrastructure)

The Commissioning Engineer is responsible for overseeing the testing, validation, and startup of critical data center infrastructure systems during new construction and expansion projects. This role ensures that electrical, mechanical, and building systems are installed, tested, and operating according to design specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities Lead commissioning activities for mission-critical data center infrastructure projects. Review design documents, equipment submittals, and commissioning plans. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, engineers, and project teams throughout construction and commissioning phases. Oversee testing and validation of systems including: Medium- and low-voltage electrical systems Generators and UPS systems HVAC and chilled water systems Building Management Systems (BMS) Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) Develop and review test scripts, commissioning procedures, and project documentation. Monitor commissioning activities to ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and safety standards. Track project progress and provide regular status updates, lessons learned, and process improvement recommendations. Support integrated systems testing and troubleshooting to ensure facility readiness for operations.

Skills and Requirements

Seniority? 5 years minimumCritical Electrical or Mechanical products (commissioning) as long as they're SME in one practice Low Voltage Switchgears, redundancies, etc. Bachelor's Degree; STRONG PREFERENCE --> no certs Mechanical: chillers, computer rooms Mission Critical or Data Center Certifications - PE, etc.
