Job Description

One of our customers is seeking a Senior Network Architect to lead the design, modernization, and long-term roadmap development of mission-critical Department of Defense networking environments. This individual will serve as a technical leader responsible for architecting enterprise and tactical network solutions utilizing Cisco and HPE Aruba technologies while aligning network capabilities with future mission and business requirements. The ideal candidate comes from a strong network engineering background and has progressed into network architecture, with extensive experience designing complex network infrastructures rather than primarily administering systems. This role requires an individual who understands networking product roadmaps, emerging technologies, and how to build scalable, resilient, and secure network architectures that support evolving DoD missions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect complex enterprise and mission-focused network infrastructures for classified and unclassified environments.
  • Develop network architectures utilizing Cisco and HPE Aruba networking solutions, including routing, switching, wireless, and network security technologies.
  • Serve as the technical authority for network modernization efforts and long-term infrastructure strategy.
  • Evaluate new networking technologies, product roadmaps, and vendor capabilities to determine future-state network architectures.
  • Create high-level and low-level network designs, architecture diagrams, and implementation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems engineering, and program leadership teams to ensure network solutions meet mission requirements.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to network engineering teams during implementation and deployment activities.
  • Support capacity planning, scalability analysis, technology refresh initiatives, and lifecycle management.
  • Recommend standards, best practices, and architectural frameworks across multiple programs.
  • Conduct technical reviews and risk assessments related to networking infrastructure and future technology adoption.

Skills and Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of networking experience with progressive responsibility in network engineering and architecture roles.
  • Experience designing and architecting large-scale enterprise networks.
  • Strong expertise with one or more of the following:
  • Cisco Networking Technologies
  • HPE Networking Solutions
  • Aruba Product Portfolio
  • Routing & Switching
  • Network Security
  • Wireless Architectures
  • WAN/LAN Design
  • Proven experience developing network architecture roadmaps and technology refresh strategies.
  • Deep understanding of networking product lifecycles and emerging networking technologies.
  • Experience creating architecture documentation, network standards, and design specifications.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or Federal Government programs.
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNP Enterprise or CCIE.
  • Experience with Zero Trust Architecture initiatives.
  • Knowledge of network automation and software-defined networking (SDN) concepts.
  • Familiarity with DoD security requirements, RMF, and NIST frameworks.
