Our Hearing Science team drives the development of the next generation of hearing health features. We work closely with multi-functional teams to find innovative solutions to translate scientific knowledge into products and features. We are searching for a passionate Engineer or Scientist to help take hearing health to the next level.

Description

As a member of the Hearing Science team, you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge of hearing science to the design and development of the next generation of hearing health features, from idea phase all the way to released features on Apple products. This will involve developing and iterating on prototypes and feature specifications, designing user studies and analyzing data, working with prototype hardware and acoustic test equipment. You will have the opportunity to work with teams across Apple, and influence the feature definition and feature use cases.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MS or PhD, preferably specializing in audio, acoustics, or hearing science

  • Solid understanding of acoustics, hearing science, and signal processing fundamentals

  • Proficiency in coding (MATLAB or Python)

  • Experience with user study design and data analysis

  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with multidisciplinary team members

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years in a hearing technology role, preferably within the audio consumer electronics industry

  • Solid understanding of psychoacoustic and physiological assessments of hearing ability

  • Familiarity with fundamental acoustic measurements such as speaker and microphone calibration

  • Ability to work independently to solve technical problems

  • Strong organization and communication skills
