The Director of Pharmacy will lead all aspects of pharmacy operations, including planning, organizing, and supervising services in alignment with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with hospital leadership to implement innovative pharmacy practices, supported by proprietary CPS software, a dedicated support team including experts in operations, clinical, and regulatory as well as a CPS Area Director or Senior Vice President.

Schedule: This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week, Monday thru Friday 8am to 4pm, with Telepharmacy coverage after hours and on the weekends.

About the Facility: River Park Hospital is a behavioral health hospital located in Huntington, West Virginia. The facility provides inpatient and psychiatric residential mental health treatment services for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors in a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment. River Park Hospital offers individualized treatment programs designed to address a wide range of mental health and behavioral health needs, with a commitment to continuously evaluating and improving patient care to enhance quality of life. Specialized services include acute inpatient psychiatric care for all age groups, psychiatric residential treatment programs, and substance use treatment services for adolescents. The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the State of West Virginia, demonstrating its commitment to delivering high-quality behavioral healthcare services across the continuum of care.

About the Pharmacy: The Pharmacy hours are approximately 8-4 M-F, with Telepharmacy coverage after hours/weekends.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all pharmacy services within a single hospital, aligning operations with the hospital's clinical, quality, and financial goals

  • Ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based medication use, overseeing clinical pharmacy practice, medication safety, and formulary management

  • Lead, develop, and hold accountability for pharmacy leadership and staff, including managers, pharmacists, technicians, and support teams

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and legal requirements, including Joint Commission, CMS, USP, BOP and state/federal laws

  • Oversee pharmacy financial performance, including budgeting, purchasing, contract management, and cost-containment initiatives

  • Collaborate with executive leadership and interdisciplinary stakeholders, supporting system-wide patient care, quality, and safety initiatives

  • Drive innovation, performance improvement, and strategic growth, leveraging data, technology, and best practices to advance pharmacy services

Required Qualifications:

  • ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD)

  • Active West Virginia Pharmacist license in good standing or ability to acquire

  • 1+ years of supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of management experience

  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare/hospital environment

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
