Akron Children's Heart Center seeks a full-time, pediatric cardiologist to join a well-established group of cardiologists and provide regional clinic coverage, expanding the services of the Heart Center team. Candidates must have an MD or DO and be board-certified in pediatric cardiology. Clinical work will be mainly focused on outpatient clinic, but candidates will also participate in inpatient general pediatric cardiology service. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the candidate will be expected to teach medical students along with other academic pursuits. Akron Children's Heart Center is a strong service line, composed of senior and junior faculty and currently comprises 2 congenital heart surgeons, 16 pediatric cardiologists (2 interventional cardiologists) and 8 advanced practice providers who provide a complete spectrum of coordinated, compassionate cardiac care to over 16,000 patients annually across 10 locations. Akron Children's Heart Center performs over 320 combined OR and Cath cases annually, and the program has been in existence for 25 years . A full range of cardiac services are offered in the Heart Center across the lifespan, including a dedicated, multi-acuity heart unit, single ventricle palliation, adult congenital heart disease care, and full-service interventional cardiology and electrophysiology programs.
