Full job description

Job Description

Insight Global is hiring a Solutions Architect to join our client’s team in the St. Louis, Charlotte, or Denver area. This person will join a team of five Solutions Architects supporting the organization’s ordering operations and other high-visibility technology initiatives. The role will operate as a bridge between software architecture and infrastructure architecture, with a primary focus on designing technical solutions based on business requirements.

This person will evaluate how multiple complex systems interact and develop end-to-end designs that account for both the application and infrastructure layers. They will design APIs, RESTful web services, integrations, cloud environments, and scalable infrastructure solutions while providing technical direction to development teams, infrastructure teams, and other architects. The goal is to bring together software and infrastructure design without requiring several separate teams to define each component of the solution.

The Solutions Architect will support a Java and Spring Boot environment and work with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, Java build pipelines, and deployment strategies such as blue-green and canary deployments. The role will also support projects involving Kafka, Camunda, and Pega. Camunda will represent approximately 10 to 20 percent of the position and will be used to orchestrate business workflows. The organization is moving away from Pega, so direct Pega experience is helpful but not required.

The position is expected to lean approximately 50 to 70 percent toward infrastructure and DevOps architecture, with the remaining focus on software, services, and Java application architecture. This is not a heavily hands-on coding role, but the individual must have enough technical depth to review designs, understand Java applications, guide development teams, and make informed architectural decisions. This role requires four days onsite and one day remote.

Skills and Requirements

Extensive experience as a Solutions Architect working across infrastructure and software or service architecture Strong system design experience, including the ability to analyze interactions between multiple complex systems and develop an end-to-end solution Experience designing cloud and infrastructure solutions, including clusters, containerized environments, and cloud migrations Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes or similar cluster-management technologies Experience designing APIs, RESTful web services, and enterprise integrations Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles Java and Spring Boot architecture or development experience Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Java build pipelines, and modern deployment strategies such as blue-green and canary deployments Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and guide development, infrastructure, and platform engineering teams Telecommunications experience or experience supporting ordering platforms and projects Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Experience with Camunda or other low-code workflow orchestration platforms Experience with Kafka Experience with Pega Experience modernizing or migrating applications away from Pega Experience designing data center clusters or supporting migrations from on-premises environments to the cloud
