About the Role

The Assistant Manager supports the Dining Manager by helping coach, counsel, and/or discipline employees. They will aid in developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily dining operations to ensure excellent food quality, customer service, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety standards.

  • Supervise, train, coach, and provide direction to dining team members, including food service workers, cooks, cashiers, and shift leads.

  • Assign and monitor daily work activities while maintaining adequate staffing levels and workflow efficiency.

  • Prepare and serve food in accordance with established recipes, portion standards, and food safety guidelines.

  • Operate POS systems and perform cashiering duties, order entry, and cash handling accurately.

  • Monitor food quality, presentation, inventory levels, and dining area cleanliness to support an exceptional guest experience.

  • Address customer concerns promptly and professionally while promoting high service standards.

  • Assist with scheduling, inventory management, receiving deliveries, and opening/closing procedures.

  • Serve as acting manager in the absence of the Dining Unit Manager and support overall operational success.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree and two years of food service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • One year of management experience.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

  • Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the day.

  • Must be able to consent to a drug screen and pre-employment background check.
