We are looking for a finance professional who wants to be a business partner first. Someone who is energized by helping leaders solve complex business challenges, improve performance, allocate capital, and create value.

As part of the Shale & Tight Business Performance & Finance team, you will work directly with operational, development, commercial, and functional leaders to improve business outcomes through rigorous analysis, strategic thinking, and actionable insights. The Shale & Tight Business Performance & Finance organization helps integrate operational performance, financial performance, and competitive performance to support faster and better decision making.

Success in this role is measured not by the reports you produce, but by the decisions you influence and the value you help create. This role partners closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to improve business outcomes, deliver strategic priorities, and advance Chevron's performance objectives.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a trusted business partner to Operations, Development, Commercial, and Functional leaders.

  • Develop financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses to support strategic, operational, and capital allocation decisions.

  • Translate operational and financial performance into actionable insights and recommendations for leadership.

  • Identify, assess, and prioritize opportunities to improve business performance, competitiveness, and value creation.

  • Utilize benchmarking and performance analysis to identify performance gaps and accelerate value capture opportunities.

  • Support executive performance reviews, business planning processes, and strategic evaluations.

  • Challenge assumptions, forecasts, and business plans through fact-based analysis and sound business judgment.

  • Champion continuous improvement through simplification, standardization, and modernization of Finance processes.

  • Leverage digital capabilities, advanced analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence to improve productivity, decision quality, and business performance.

  • Support transformation initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness and accelerate business results.

  • Collaborate effectively across functions and organizational boundaries to influence outcomes and deliver business value.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience in FP&A, business planning, finance, business performance, commercial analysis, strategy, or related disciplines.

  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence decisions and drive outcomes across multiple stakeholder groups.

  • Proven ability to synthesize complex information into clear business insights and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within the upstream oil and gas industry or other asset-intensive industries.

  • Experience supporting business planning, forecasting, capital allocation, and performance management processes.

  • Experience applying digital technologies, automation, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence to improve business performance.

  • Ability to influence without authority and build effective partnerships across the organization.

  • Demonstrated success leading transformation, continuous improvement, or organizational effectiveness initiatives.

  • MBA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent advanced professional qualification.

Join us if you want to:

  • Drive business outcomes rather than simply report them.

  • Influence decisions that shape the future of the business.

  • Combine FP&A excellence with strategic thinking and business partnership.

  • Lead transformational change through AI, digital innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Help Chevron deliver peer-leading performance and sustainable value creation.
