Full job description
Chahinkapa Zoo is seeking a Zoo Director. This person must be dedicated, enthusiastic, and highly motivated. Will lead a team of skilled zoo professionals adhering to a mission of Conservation and Education at the beautiful Chahinkapa Zoo in Wahpeton, ND. Work includes, but not limited to: - Employee management - Policy development - Animal care and welfare - Safety and security - Promotion of Zoological missions and - Be comfortable to be in the public eye for personal and on-line/radio interactions promoting the zoo. Qualifications required: - Degree/graduation from college/university with major courses in zoology, biology, or zoo management or related field. - Ability to evaluate zoo facilities and programs, and recommend the appropriate plans. - Considerable knowledge of zoo policies, procedures, and practices. - Ability to communicate and establish effective working relationships with fellow employees, board members, agencies and the public. - Ability to understand and follow instructions regarding job assignments. The salary is listed at $70,000 to $90,000 per year plus benefits of health, dental, vision, and retirement. Housing is negotiable.
