Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, versatile Technology Specialist — a true "jack of all trades" combining end-user computing, systems administration, and network support with a forward-looking mandate: helping our scientists and G&A teams work smarter through automation, AI-enabled tooling, and thoughtful use of our technology stack. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who takes initiative, moves fluidly between a support ticket, a patch cycle, and a workflow-automation experiment in the same day, and is genuinely excited about the potential of AI and agentic tools to reduce toil across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Automation & AI-Enabled Tooling

  • Prototype and deploy lightweight automations (scripts, Power Automate/similar, API integrations, LLM/agentic workflows via internal tools) to reduce manual toil for scientific and G&A teams.

  • Act as a technology advocate and translator between the lab bench and IT — proactively surfacing tools (including AI copilots and agentic workflows) that improve throughput, data quality, or turnaround time.

  • Contribute to a culture of automation-first thinking, documenting reusable solutions rather than one-off fixes.

General IT & Help Desk Support

  • Serve as an escalation point and hands-on contributor for the IT Help Desk ticket queue, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.

  • Provide in-person and remote support across Windows, macOS, mobile devices, and common SaaS/productivity tools (Office 365, Okta, Zoom, Egnyte, Atlassian Suite).

  • Support conference room A/V, Zoom Rooms, and office technology for smooth hybrid collaboration.

  • Maintain and improve IT documentation, knowledge base articles, and self-service resources.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on IT support experience, ideally in a fast-paced life sciences/biotech environment.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Intune (Windows MDM, compliance, patch management) and macOS device management tools (Addigy, Jamf, or similar).

  • Solid fundamentals in Windows and macOS administration, Active Directory/Entra ID concepts, and basic networking (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Wi-Fi troubleshooting).
