Description

Meyer Utility Structures is currently looking to hire a Systems Developer. The Systems Developer will be the vital link of business and engineering applications to support the Meyer business objectives. Including supporting and ensuring continuity of systems and software programs throughout the application portfolio through planning, technical design, and application development standards.

Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is an industry leader in the engineering design and fabrication of concrete and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications. With over sixty years of innovative engineering and manufacturing expertise, Meyer has helped to author and validate many of today’s transmission industry standards and specifications.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with Business and Systems Analysts to translate business requirements into technical requirements

  • Manage detailed requirements and prioritize solutions that provide the greatest impact toward business objectives

  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, DBAs, and other IT functional teams to ensure productivity and solution quality

  • Design and develop solutions that support enterprise architectural objectives and account for dependencies across the technology stack, including compute, data, transactional, and analytics layers

  • Design solutions focused on end-user adoption, productivity improvement, and overall system effectiveness

  • Support project management and work package management activities

  • Provide direct support for ERP and engineering software modules and processes, including continuous improvement and application of best practices

  • Support the planning, analysis, development, testing, and deployment phases of the software development lifecycle

  • Identify potential project issues and manage project tasks, including effort and duration estimates, task dependencies, sequencing, critical path analysis, resource assignments, and conflict resolution

  • Identify opportunities to enhance application capabilities and recommend new technologies, ideas, and best practices to keep Meyer’s systems current

  • Provide technical support for ERP, engineering, manufacturing, and other business applications

  • Support Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), PLCs, SCADA systems, user-interface development, and related manufacturing technologies

  • Partner with internal and external users, including various levels of management, to gather business requirements and develop effective technology solutions

  • Stay informed of trends in application system development and make recommendations to enhance system capabilities and business processes

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience

  • Strong proficiency in C, C++, and C#

  • Experience with Azure DevOps

  • Experience with API creation and integration

  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming

  • Experience with Linux operating systems

  • Experience with Microsoft Developer Studio preferred

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

  • Experience with PLCs and SCADA systems

  • Experience with user-interface development

  • TFS experience

  • .NET development and SQL Server experience preferred

  • Crystal Reports and Power BI reporting tools experience preferred

  • FTP/SFTP experience

  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation
