Salary: $3,606 to $4,563 per month (SR-11, Step C to I).

Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors.

Interviews applicants for Hawaiian Home Lands homestead leases; provides information on eligibility requirements; examines and evaluates documents and supporting evidence; reviews all applications processed by branch personnel and those submitted by Neighbor Island District Offices; recommends need for additional information, approval or disapproval of all applications including the most complex applications; and performs other related duties as assigned.To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

LEGAL AUTHORIZATION TO WORK: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.

Basic Education/Experience: Experience requiring knowledge of English grammar and spelling and the ability to read, comprehend and apply written directions, and the ability to make basic mathematical computations including percentages. This experience may be met from part-time and/or unpaid work. There must, however, be evidence that participation was on a continuous basis but not necessarily on a full-time normal work basis. This requirement may also be met by possession of a high school diploma with satisfactory completion of coursework in English and arithmetic.

General Experience: TWO (2) YEARS of progressively responsible work experience which involved performance of a variety of detailed tasks which demonstrated knowledge of English grammar, spelling, arithmetic, common office appliances and equipment; the ability to read and understand oral and written instructions; speak and write simply and directly; compare words and numbers quickly and accurately; and operate various kinds of office equipment.• At least ONE (1) year of the General Experience must have involved, or have been supplemented by, some public contact work.

Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.

Special Requirement: Applicants must be commissioned as a notary public in government service shortly after appointment.
