Job Description
The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining systems that ensure products meet customer, regulatory, and quality requirements throughout the product lifecycle. This individual will support change management activities, investigate non-conformances, drive root cause and corrective actions, support audits, and partner with engineering, operations, and suppliers to improve product quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities -Review engineering and design changes to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and quality requirements. -Serve as the quality representative for new product introductions (NPI), design changes, and cross-functional engineering activities. -Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). -Drive quality improvements through defect analysis, metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives. -Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits, including FAA audits. -Conduct and approve First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102 requirements. -Review and approve manufacturing documentation, build books, and test documentation. -Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to qualify suppliers and improve supplier quality performance. -Support incoming inspection activities, material reviews (MRB), and nonconforming material processes. -Conduct supplier audits and lead supplier development initiatives. -Represent Quality during customer visits, audits, and quality reviews. -Assist with validation of inspection and test equipment and development of inspection plans. -Deliver training on quality standards, tools, and continuous improvement methodologies. -Track and report quality metrics, customer returns, supplier performance, and corrective actions. -Support SCARs, Notices of Escape (NOEs), and program quality initiatives. -Maintain quality procedures including incoming inspection, scrap control, shelf-life management, and workmanship standards.
Skills and Requirements
-Experience in a Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering environment (internship, co-op, or professional experience accepted).
-Experience leading root cause investigations
-Experience with CAPAs
-Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
