Description

Our Robert Half client is a growing, publicly traded company seeking a Manager of Accounting & External Reporting. Join a collaborative team where your ideas and contributions are valued. The company offers exposure to leaders across the business, opportunities to rotate into other finance roles, and advancement based on merit and results.

In this visible corporate finance position, you will help deliver accurate external reporting while building relationships with finance partners throughout the organization. You will work on SEC filings, complex accounting matters and initiatives that improve how financial information is prepared and communicated.

What you’ll do

  • Take a leading role in quarterly and annual SEC reporting, including financial statements, footnote disclosures and supporting schedules.

  • Coordinate close and consolidation activities; review general ledger accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and financial results for accuracy and consistency.

  • Manage stock compensation accounting, related journal entries and disclosures. Partner with HR, payroll and tax to coordinate reporting and resolve questions.

  • Research technical accounting issues and provide guidance to colleagues in finance and operations.

  • Review key internal controls, help address accounting and reporting issues, and respond to external auditor requests.

  • Collaborate with finance teams across the business to understand operations, strengthen reporting and improve processes.

  • Support employee benefit plan financial statements and projects that enhance reporting tools, data quality and workflows.

For immediate and confidential consideration, or if you have questions, please call Jeff Sokolowski directly at (248)365-6131.

Requirements

What you’ll bring

  • Four or more years of progressive experience in accounting, external reporting or public accounting.

  • A degree in accounting or finance, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, financial close processes and internal controls.

  • Experience preparing or reviewing financial statements and disclosures, with the judgment to identify issues and follow them through to resolution.

  • Strong Excel, analytical, communication and project management skills; comfort working with colleagues across multiple teams.

  • CPA, public accounting background, and experience with ERP, consolidation or reporting platforms are preferred.

Build a longer-term career through performance and new challenges.
