Lead Software Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to join a growing technology organization and help scale customer-facing and business-critical applications. This individual will serve as a technical leader while remaining deeply involved in software development, architecture, and problem-solving. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys building products from the ground up, and has a passion for software development both inside and outside of work.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable full-stack applications.
• Lead technical decision-making and architecture discussions.
• Mentor engineers and establish development best practices.
• Collaborate with executives and cross-functional teams on product strategy.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive solutions.
• Contribute code daily while helping guide the overall engineering direction.

Compensation: The annual salary for this role is between $200,000 - $300,000 based on relevant skills & experience.

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience.
• Strong experience building production applications using Python and modern web frameworks.
• Experience across frontend, backend, APIs, and database development.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives while remaining hands-on.
• Experience building customer-facing applications used by real-world users.
• React development experience.
• Django expertise.
• Startup or high-growth company experience.
• Active GitHub profile with personal or open-source projects.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.).
• Experience with Docker, Linux, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployments.
• Billing, payment, telecom, or infrastructure software experience.
