Job Description

The Associate Director, Procurement Finance FP&A, leads financial planning and analysis for the Procurement function, including Plans, Latest Best Estimates (LBEs), and Long Range Plans (LRPs); manages monthly results reporting; delivers clear analysis and recommendations to senior management; ensures financial statement accuracy; and supports staff development. The role also provides strategic finance partnership to Procurement leadership, helping shape transformation priorities and translate financial insights into actionable business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the overall business objectives and plans to achieve financial goals.

  • Lead end-to-end financial planning & analysis for Procurement costs in annual Plans, LRPs, and monthly LBEs. Handle monthly results analysis and commentary reporting.

  • Oversee all financial aspects of capital investments, and integration activities, ensuring finance requirements are met during each cycle.

  • Serve as a strategic finance partner and trusted advisor to Procurement leadership by providing financial insight, constructive challenge, and recommendations that shape business decisions, optimize investment choices, and enable transformation outcomes. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.

  • Lead and govern enterprise Weighted Average Payment Term (WAPT) annual Plan and monthly reporting and analysis.

  • Provide financial leadership on Procurement transformation programs by building business cases, assessing ROI, and identifying risks and opportunities.

  • Challenge assumptions and influence decision-making by providing fact-based recommendations on investment trade-offs and transformation priorities.

  • Prioritize and manage ad hoc requests.

  • Manage and develop a team of direct reports, fostering staff growth, coaching, and maintaining a high-performing finance function.

  • Drive continuous process efficiency improvements, including AI use cases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

  • 7–10 years of progressive finance or accounting experience; direct FP&A experience highly desirable.

  • Strong leadership skills with a keen sense of ownership and the capability to direct teams and deliver results.

  • Demonstrated experience with problem-solving and analysis within the framework of AbbVie's financial policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Hands-on expertise with SAP, BPC, and Excel; experience with Power BI, Power Query or other financial analytics tools is a plus.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and business partnering skills with a track record of supporting senior management and influencing cross-functional teams.

  • Experience supporting business transformation and leading FP&A process improvements, reporting automation, and analytics enhancements.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, lead through ambiguity, and convert financial analysis into strategic recommendations.

  • CPA, MBA, or relevant advanced degree preferred.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
