Full job description

Job Duties

Set up, adjust, and operate CNC Swiss Lathe (e.g., Tsugami or similar) as well as other Live-Tool lathes (w/ sub spindles), to produce precision turned components to print.

Adjust programs at the machine. (Programming with CAM software is a bonus!)

Interpret engineering drawings, select appropriate tooling, and optimize feeds and speeds for quality and efficiency.

Perform first‑piece and in‑process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.

Make offset changes and minor program edits as needed to maintain tight tolerances and part quality.

Troubleshoot dimensional or surface‑finish issues, collaborating with quality and engineering as needed.

Follow established quality procedures, documentation, and safety guidelines in a fast‑paced production environment.

Support quick changeovers and efficient production flow to meet customer delivery expectations.

Assist the Foreman by overseeing the production in the Live Tool Department.

Minimum Education Required

High School/GED Required

Associated/Certificate a Plus

Minimum Experience Required

5+ years of hands‑on experience running and setting up CNC Live-Tool & Swiss Lathes (not just operating pre‑set jobs).

Strong blueprint reading, along with solid shop math skills.

Proven ability to hold tight tolerances in a production environment.

Comfort working in a smaller, team‑oriented shop where versatility and reliability matter.

Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to doing the job right the first time.
