This role requires a self-starter who insists on the highest standards with a keen attention to detail, a track record of influencing business partners with data-driven decision making, and the ability to move fast. Communication (written and verbal) and collaboration are key, as the individual will interact with numerous functions and teams within Amazon.

In addition to reporting on business results and long-term planning, this role provides an opportunity to partner with financial systems and other teams on data-driven projects driving product enhancements and financial insights for senior leadership.

Key job responsibilities

  • Collaborate across multiple teams and business partners to deeply understand business drivers behind the financials and improve forecast accuracy.

  • Identify and drive process improvements that will ensure you deliver results. Implement solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance processes. Drive process standardization across other teams, prioritizing improvements that increase the reliability and efficiency of reporting.

  • Prioritize your work, resolve issues, and meet deadlines, while seeking support and feedback from your manager when you hit roadblocks.

  • Drive your self-development: seek opportunities to expand finance expertise.

  • Educate others across the business as a subject matter expert in Free Cash Flow and Working Capital.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of finance, accounting, or related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, tax, economics, or a related analytical field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
