This position will be Supervising the ISM unit.
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for candidates with strong leadership skills who are detail-oriented, possess good decision-making and critical thinking skills and are able to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. You must be willing to work after hours and on weekends as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This is professional work overseeing Child Protective Investigators who are charged with protecting children and working with families to conduct investigations of alleged abused, abandoned, neglected, or exploited children. Supervise investigations regarding allegations of child abuse, neglect, abandonment, and/or special conditions for staff who; Collect information through interviews with the children, parents, relatives, neighbors, and other parties associated with the case.
Engages families, identifies needs and determines the level of intervention needed to include voluntary services or court ordered dependency services.
Provide services linkages to agency and community resources based on needs assessment and provides recommendations for development of case plan to Case Manager.
Conduct initial/ongoing child present danger and impending danger assessments.
Develop with the family a signed Present Danger Plan and a signed Safety Plan for any identified threats and interventions.
Arrange emergency placement for any child that cannot safely remain in the home.
Notify state attorney, law enforcement, child protection team, and other required individuals as appropriate; Schedule and gather information for and participates in case staffing’s; Prepare appropriate reports/documentation in coordination with Children's Legal Services and provides testimony in court.
Maintain thorough documentation in the client records/appropriate information system(s) and maintains organized client files; Report indication of abuse, neglect and/or abandonment to the Florida Abuse Hotline; Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with organizations and other agencies involved with the child protective investigations such as community based providers, Children's Legal Services, law enforcement, medical personnel, schools, and other community/agency resources;
Ensure effective communication with deaf or hard-of-hearing customers or companions in accordance with the ADA and/or Section 504 and shall manage service records and report this data and any resources and/or training needs to their designated program point of contact. The position will perform all job tasks in accordance with laws, rules, regulations, policies, and requirements applicable to state and federal laws or procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

a bachelor's degree (preferred bachelor's or master's degree in social work from a college or university social work program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education)

3-5 years' experience in child welfare; preferred in child abuse investigations

Child Welfare Certification credentials from the Florida Certification Board

Must be trained and practicing Florida's Safety Practice method
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Must maintain valid Driver's License; Must maintain current Florida Child Protective Investigator certification; Must have Business Insurance for their vehicle. Bachelor's Degree
