Job Description

This role supports a fast-paced manufacturing operation by assisting in multiple production areas, including oven packing and quality control. The Manufacturing Helper works closely with production teams to handle materials, inspect finished parts, and maintain a safe, organized work area in a hot and dusty, foundry-like environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in various areas of the manufacturing process as needed to support overall production flow.

• Pack and unload parts from industrial ovens safely and efficiently.

• Remove finished parts from production lines and stage them for further processing or shipment.

• Perform quality control checks and visual inspections of parts to ensure they meet standards.

• Stack materials onto pallets in an organized, stable, and safe manner.

• Label boxes accurately for shipment or storage to maintain proper inventory and traceability.

• Operate a vacuum hoist to lift, move, and position materials safely.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.

• Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures and guidelines consistently.

• Work frequent Saturday shifts as scheduled and support potential schedule changes, including a possible transition to four 10-hour shifts.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.

• Ability to lift 30+ pounds regularly throughout the shift.

• Willingness to work overtime and frequent scheduled Saturdays.

• Strong attention to detail for inspections and quality checks.

• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

• Ability to work safely and effectively in hot, dusty conditions.

• Comfort working in a fast-paced production and foundry-like environment.

• Ability to follow safety, quality, and production procedures consistently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in general labor, production, quality control, or foundry environments is beneficial.

• Experience operating material handling equipment such as a vacuum hoist is an asset.

• Comfort working as part of a unionized workforce.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

Work Environment

This role operates in a foundry-like manufacturing environment that is hot and dusty. The standard shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch, and the schedule currently includes frequent mandatory Saturday work, typically two Saturdays every four weeks and occasionally three Saturdays every five weeks. There is potential for the schedule to change to four 10-hour shifts. The work involves standing for long periods, lifting and moving materials, and using equipment such as vacuum hoists. The environment follows union guidelines, and uniforms are provided, along with work boots supplied annually. Safety procedures are emphasized, and employees are expected to maintain a clean, orderly work area while working in close proximity to ovens and production lines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brook Park, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.32 - $21.32/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
