Equities Production Support Engineer

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Production Support Engineer to join one of our largest financial services clients supporting their Equities Cash Execution Technology platform. This individual will provide front-office technical and operational support for electronic trading applications, troubleshoot production issues, and partner closely with Sales, Trading, and technology teams to ensure platform stability and performance. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting front-office trading environments, strong SQL and Unix/Linux skills, Python scripting experience, and a solid understanding of Equities or Equities Cash trading workflows. They should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced production support environment, driving incident resolution, performing root cause analysis, and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and system reliability.

Day to Day Provide production support for Equities Cash electronic trading platforms, ensuring stability, performance, and availability. Act as the first point of contact for order flow, trade processing, connectivity, and application issues impacting traders, sales teams, and clients. Monitor production environments, investigate alerts, troubleshoot incidents, and drive issues through resolution. Perform root cause analysis and partner with development teams on long-term fixes and platform improvements. Write SQL queries and run Python scripts (off playbook or your own) to analyze production data, troubleshoot issues, automate processes, and support operational reporting. Work closely with Front Office users, Sales, Trading, and technology teams to support daily trading activity and prioritize enhancements. Track incidents, changes, and problems through ServiceNow/Jira while adhering to ITIL processes. Produce reports and metrics around system health, platform stability, client activity, and incident trends.

Skills and Requirements

Must Haves 3-7+ years of Production/Application Support experience within a trading or capital markets environment. Experience supporting Front Office trading applications. Knowledge of Equities Trading, Equities Cash, electronic trading, OMS/EMS platforms, or trade lifecycle concepts. Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Geneos, AppDynamics, or similar platform Strong SQL skills for production support, troubleshooting, and data analysis. Experience with Python scripting for automation, monitoring, or operational tooling. Unix/Linux command line experience. Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, or similar incident/change management tools. Plusses Experience supporting Equities Cash Execution platforms specifically. Knowledge of order routing, FIX Connectivity, market data, exchange connectivity, or trade execution workflows. Experience writing automation scripts to reduce manual operational work. Exposure to global support environments supporting trading desks across regions.
