Job Description

This full-time field-based role focuses on performing detailed inspections and testing activities on construction and private development sites, with support from a Franklin, WIbased office. The technician ensures that materials and workmanship meet required standards through on-site observation, sampling, and laboratory testing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field observations and testing during concrete placements to verify compliance with project specifications and standards.

  • Conduct sampling, inspection, and testing of soil and aggregates on construction and private construction sites.

  • Collect and prepare concrete, soil, and aggregate samples for laboratory analysis.

  • Carry out laboratory testing of concrete cylinders, aggregates, and soil to assess strength, composition, and suitability for use.

  • Use appropriate hand tools and testing equipment safely and accurately during field and laboratory activities.

  • Document inspection and test results clearly and accurately, following established procedures and formats.

  • Communicate findings and potential issues observed on site to the appropriate project personnel in a timely manner.

  • Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working on active construction sites and in the laboratory.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues encountered during field inspections and testing activities.

  • Experience working on or around construction sites, with an understanding of basic construction practices.

  • Proficient use of hand tools commonly required for field testing and sampling.

  • Capability to perform field observation and testing during concrete placements.

  • Ability to conduct sampling, inspection, and testing of soil and aggregates in the field.

  • Competence in performing laboratory testing of concrete cylinders, aggregates, and soil.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording test data and observations.

  • Ability to follow established procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Franklin, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
