Full job description

Our client, Payments & Financial Technology is seeking a Manual Payments Tester to join their team. As a Manual Payments Tester, you will be part of the QA team supporting payments initiations, transformations, and migrations. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to quality, the ability to follow detailed compliance and audit processes, and the drive to deliver clear, actionable test results that help ensure payments move smoothly from initiation to settlement.

Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid)

Pay Range:

What's the Job?

  • Support QA testing for payments initiations, transformations, and migrations within a dedicated payments testing workflow.

  • Perform hands-on manual testing to validate end-to-end payment behavior, ensuring there are no issues from initiation through settlement.

  • Execute and document test activities in JIRA, including tracking results, defects, and evidence needed for compliance and audit purposes.

  • Collaborate with the QA team to address increased release volume driven by vulnerability remediation work, helping maintain release readiness.

  • Provide truly delivery-focused test results by clearly documenting what was tested, what was observed, and what actions are needed next.

What's Needed?

  • Approximately 7 years of testing experience (not more than 10–11 years), with a strong focus on manual testing.

  • Payments experience, including understanding payments systems and how to validate changes when moving from a legacy tool.

  • Ability to understand and test the full payments flow, specifically the process from initiation to settlement.

  • Experience with manual testing that produces reliable, actionable outcomes and supports release decisions.

  • Familiarity with test management tools such as Octane or HP ALM (or similar tools), plus strong documentation skills and comfort working within compliance/audit-heavy processes.
