Full job description

Key Account Manager — Geospatial | Western U.S.

Turn established geospatial accounts into lasting growth—with a client base to build on and technical experts beside you.

A growing geospatial consulting firm is hiring a Key Account Manager to expand existing city, county, and state-government relationships across the Western U.S. You’ll uncover customer needs, shape account plans, and turn GIS strategy into follow-on consulting work. This is a remote field role reporting to the Chief Growth Officer.

What You’ll Own

  • Build trusted relationships with GIS, IT, and agency leaders.

  • Identify expansion opportunities across established accounts.

  • Navigate stakeholders, funding, and decision timelines.

  • Partner with project managers and consultants to shape the next engagement.

  • Take ownership of account strategy while delivery teams execute the work.

What You Bring

  • A geospatial background through relevant work or education.

  • Experience working directly with customers in sales, account management, consulting, or another client-facing role.

  • Familiarity with GIS and the Esri/ArcGIS ecosystem.

  • A consultative approach: listen carefully, understand the problem, and follow through.

Government-facing experience in account management, customer service/success, consulting, or sales is strongly preferred. Account expansion, services sales, and measurable results are especially valuable. Earlier-career candidates ready to grow into larger accounts are welcome.

Location & Travel

Remote, with candidates in the western half of the U.S. preferred. Plan for approximately quarterly client trips, primarily to California, potentially more during your ramp, plus selected industry events.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $100,000–$150,000 annual on-target earnings, including base and performance-based compensation.

  • Some flexibility may be available for an exceptional fit.

  • Performance accelerators provide additional earning opportunity; specific terms will be discussed.

  • Health insurance, SIMPLE IRA with a 3% match, generous PTO, and the week between Christmas and New Year off.
