Product Manager - Accountant Solutions

We are currently seeking a Product Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of a modern accounting solution for accountancy firms.

As a Product Manager at Sage, you will work closely with accountants, clients, software engineers, and business stakeholders to streamline accounting processes, automate manual tasks, improve financial reporting, and enhance client service.

You will leverage product management expertise alongside a strong understanding of accounting workflows, software development, and AI-driven technologies.

*** Please note that this role is hybrid and requires working 3 days a week from our Atlanta office. ***

• Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with the firm's business objectives.

• Gather requirements from accountants, partners, and clients, translating them into product features.

• Understand and optimize accounting workflows, including bookkeeping, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, month-end close, and financial reporting.

• Leverage AI and automation to reduce manual effort and improve accounting workflows.

• Define requirements for transaction processing, accounting categorization, document management, and approvals.

• Own product lifecycle from discovery and requirements gathering through development, testing, launch, and ongoing improvement.

• Work with engineering, design, and QA teams to deliver high-quality features.

• Manage backlog, define user stories and acceptance criteria, and support Agile delivery.

Requirements

• Product management experience, preferably in accounting software, SaaS, or workflow automation, with familiarity with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting platforms.

• Understanding of accounting principles and end-to-end accounting processes.

• Experience delivering software products end-to-end, with exposure to APIs, financial integrations, AI, and automation technologies.

• Experience working with engineering and cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies.

• Ability to translate business requirements into product roadmaps, user stories, and functional specifications.
