Description & Requirements
Team
The Core & Industry Financial Product (CFD) team is responsible for a portfolio of domains and asset classes including Companies, Company Financials, Listed Equities, Funds, Indices, Holdings, Economics, Commodities, Industry, Alternative Data, Supply Chain and Physical Assets. These domains and asset classes support our businesses in Terminal, Enterprise Data and Enterprise Product by delivering data, analytics and applications to customers across all commercial verticals.
We play an important role in Bloomberg’s private markets strategy, connecting data, analytics and investment workflows across private companies, funds and indices. In addition, we are responsible for the Digital Asset and Market strategy, focused on how emerging asset classes and evolving market structures are integrated into scalable, institutional-grade workflows.
Product Operations & Strategy is an embedded function that drives business-level alignment and effectiveness across the Product organization. Operating at the portfolio and cross-domain level, the team connects priorities, resources, and decision-making across Product while complementing the ownership of individual teams.
The Role
As the Head of Product Operations & Strategy, you would coordinate and drive execution across the full lifecycle of product development, go-to-market strategy, and team capability, helping transform a collection of related product lines into a coherent, commercially optimized, and scalable portfolio.
You will bring together priorities, investments, resources, dependencies, and outcomes into a consolidated portfolio view, establishing the operating rhythms and decision-making frameworks needed to drive organizational clarity and alignment. Working across Product, Engineering, Data, and other key stakeholders, you will help ensure leadership has the information and mechanisms needed to make effective portfolio-level decisions and drive strategic priorities across domains.
We’ll Trust You To:
-
Work within the strategic direction set by the Global Head of Financial & Industry Product, develop and drive the multi-year business plan, providing portfolio-level oversight across product priorities, investments, resources, and outcomes.
-
Architect a unified product and commercial roadmap that identifies cross-vertical synergies and client workflow opportunities, partnering with Product leadership to ensure priorities are commercially grounded, client-informed, and sequenced for maximum business impact.
-
Lead portfolio reviews and establish a consistent framework for evaluating product-market fit, informing decisions on investment, resource allocation, rationalization, consolidation, scaling, or retirement.
-
Drive cross-domain alignment on strategic priorities, including BQL and ASKB, ensuring dependencies, adoption, and opportunities to scale are identified and addressed.
-
Align shared portfolio priorities with adjacent business areas, particularly Enterprise Data, and represent Product in relevant Corporate Strategy and Business Development initiatives.
-
Establish and drive the Product operating cadence, bringing together business reviews, planning cycles, portfolio reporting, strategic decisions, and cross-domain priorities to create clarity, accountability, and effective leadership decision-making.
-
Be the product interface to key horizontal and adjacent functions, including GTM, Business Reporting, Enterprise Data, ProdX, and the COO organization—ensuring Core & Industry Financial Data priorities are represented and aligned, while functional ownership remains with the respective teams.
-
Assess organizational structure and resource needs, developing recommendations aligned with business strategy in partnership with the Global Head of Financial & Industry Product, while supporting consistent Product onboarding, coaching, and leadership development.
You’ll Need to Have:
-
5+* Years experience in Product Operations, Business Operations, Strategy, Portfolio Management, or a related role within a complex product-led organization.
-
Strong product and commercial acumen, with experience translating client needs, market opportunities, and business strategy into clear product and portfolio priorities.
-
Proven ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Data, Sales, and other functions to drive shared outcomes.
-
Experience evaluating product portfolios, operating models, and organizational structures to identify opportunities, trade-offs, and areas for improvement.
-
Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations, decisions, and actionable plans.
-
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of driving execution across complex, cross-functional organizations without relying on direct authority.
