Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Document Negotiator to support legal documentation activities for the Office of General Counsel in Boston, MA. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for someone who is comfortable working with attorneys, client-facing teams, and control functions in a financial services environment. The role focuses on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of client and operational documents while helping ensure timely completion, strong recordkeeping, and effective coordination across multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities:

Draft, examine, and negotiate account control agreements, amendments, and related legal documents that support client accounts and trading activity.

Partner with attorneys and business teams to prepare documentation tied to client onboarding, account maintenance, and service-related requests.

Review instruction letters, representation letters, and similar materials for operational groups within the investor services business.

Coordinate document workflows among internal teams, external counterparties, and clients to keep execution on schedule and resolve open items efficiently.

Monitor the progress of active agreements, maintain organized tracking tools and documentation records, and help ensure deadline-sensitive matters remain current.

Work closely with compliance, credit risk, and other cross-functional partners on contract reviews, escalations, and targeted initiatives.

Provide responsive support to internal stakeholders by clarifying documentation requirements and helping address negotiation issues in a practical manner.
Requirements • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school is preferred, though experienced non-attorney candidates with relevant background will be considered.

At least 2 years of experience in contract drafting, document negotiation, or legal documentation within financial services, banking, or a related environment.

Familiarity with transactional agreements, corporate contracts, mutual funds, banking documentation, or similar legal instruments.

Exposure to derivatives documentation, account control agreements, or comparable trading-related agreements is strongly preferred.

Ability to manage multiple matters at once while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to time-sensitive deadlines.

Strong written communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively across legal, client service, compliance, and risk teams.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard document tracking tools used for legal and operational record management.
