Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a UNIT PROGRAM COORDINATOR, Position Description Number T6377000 and is part of the 105TH AW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants.
Duties
As a UNIT PROGRAM COORDINATOR (GS-0303-07), you are subordinate to and assists the lead CSS in managing daily administrative and unit-level support, executes assigned programs in line with the Personnel Services Delivery Guide (PSDG), and supports training of personnel to maintain mission readiness and compliance with Air Force policies. Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which indicates the candidate performed progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade. Must have experience supporting the administration of military personnel management programs including requesting personnel actions such as promotions, evaluations, awards, and leave. Serving as a point of contact for unit personnel and leadership regarding personnel management and administrative support. Experience assisting commanders, supervisors, and employees in understanding personnel policies and procedures. Experience assisting higher graded specialists in areas critical to unit operations, ensuring adherence to Air Force policies. Experience serving as a point of contact for unit personnel and leadership regarding personnel management and administrative support; supporting the administration of military personnel management programs including requesting personnel actions such as promotions, evaluations, awards, and leave; monitoring personnel records and supports preparation of routine personnel actions with guidance from higher graded HR Specialist; assisting with maintaining personnel files and electronic records in accordance with Air Force, Air National Guard, and local directives. If you are a male applicant who was born after 12/31/1959 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency (Register | Selective Service System : Selective Service System (sss.gov)). This position is an indefinite appointment that may be made permanent later without competition. Employees hired under indefinite appointments may not exceed 5 years (consecutive) time with the agency. The applicant selected may be released at any time subject to a 30-day notice and advised of his/her rights and benefits to which entitled. If a permanent employee accepts this indefinite position, their tenure will change from permanent to indefinite. Superior Qualifications Appointment (Advanced Step Placement): In accordance with agency pay-setting policy, the hiring official may request advanced step placement for highly qualified candidates of federal GS positions. Eligibility: To qualify, the candidate must be a newly-appointed General Schedule (GS) employee (defined as receiving their first appointment as a civilian employee of the Federal Government, or a former federal employee being reappointed after a break in service of at least 90 days). The hiring official must formally document and demonstrate that the candidate possesses: Superior Qualifications: The level, type, or quality of the candidate's skills, competencies, accomplishments, education, or experience is significantly higher than what is minimally required for the position; OR Special Agency Need: The candidate possesses skills and competencies that are essential to accomplishing a critical, high-priority agency mission, goal, or program. If an incentive is requested, an official start date will not be established or provided to the selected candidate until final approval is received. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. Head of Agency requests to exceed 14 days in a calendar year must be approved in advance by the National Guard, Director of Manpower and Personnel (NGB-J1)
