Job Description
We are looking for a visionary Creative Director to lead brand expression and visual design across various user touchpoints and surfaces. This is a senior individual contributor role that sits at the intersection of brand storytelling, visual expression, and cutting-edge AI innovation, with a focus on go-to-market efforts for our expanding wearables portfolio.
As Creative Director, you will partner with visual designers, content designers, technical artists, motion designers, creative technologists, and engineers to ship high-quality digital retail experiences. You will ensure that every experience of Wearables is cohesive and compelling — helping build reputation as a design company, not purely a tech company.
You hold a high standard for craft and execution, thrive at the intersection of fashion, technology, and culture, and have experience integrating generative AI tools into creative workflows to drive innovation and efficiency at scale.
Creative Director, Human Interface Responsibilities:
- Drive the overarching creative direction for Wearables across web and product experiences, including campaign retail experiences, new user experiences, and brand system direction
- Partner with product management, design, and marketing teams to define GTM creative strategy — ensuring clarity of message, strong storytelling, and consistent brand expression across the site and supporting channels
- Set creative direction for multiple design surfaces, campaign asset production, and brand system evolution
- Define and evolve a cohesive, creative vision that balances premium brand expression with usability, accessibility, and commerce performance
- Create compelling design proposals and narratives that demonstrate the impact of creative direction and strategy applied to user-facing surfaces and experiences
- Collaborate cross-functionally, balance the needs of stakeholders, and break down complex requirements into simple, compelling solutions
- Articulate concepts and creative vision clearly with cross-functional teams and vendors (internally and externally), driving towards shared milestones and outcomes
- Lead creative direction of photo, video, and 3D render production supporting GTM and evergreen product needs — independently and in partnership with internal studios and external vendors — including on-set direction, brief writing, setting standards, reviewing work, and ensuring quality and consistency across markets and channels
- Establish scalable systems for product storytelling (imagery and motion) that build trust, improve comprehension, and support confident purchase decisions
- Mentor and elevate the craft of designers on the team; foster an inspiring, collaborative team environment where all team members contribute and do their best work of their careers
- Partner with research and analytics to measure creative effectiveness, using insights to refine direction and demonstrate business impact
Skills and Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in creative direction, art direction, brand design, and visual design with experience on a global scale brands
- 5+ years of leading cross-functional GTM or product creative workstreams, partnering with product, design, engineering, user research, brand, marketing, merchandising, and content/production teams
- Portfolio demonstrating exceptional craft, range across mediums, and a clear creative point of view
- Demonstrated experience leading creative direction across multidisciplinary teams and identifying visual design opportunities that elevate product experiences and brand expression
- Demonstrated experience in owning creative direction for production workflows (photo/video/3D renders), including working with agencies, freelancers, and external partners to deliver high-quality outputs at scale
- Experience working across various styles and mediums — photography/art direction, motion/animation, and interaction design — weaving them together into holistic solutions
- Strong knowledge of design principles related to design systems and brand, and how they inform UX, UI, communication hierarchy, information architecture, and user flows
- Track record of operating independently, demonstrating creative leadership, maintaining attention to detail, and delivering results in a highly organized manner
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with experience articulating complex or abstract concepts clearly and persuasively — able to explain the reasoning behind decisions, open to being wrong, and able to represent a point of view with conviction
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Experience in fast-paced environments requiring the management of many dependencies, independent time management, task prioritization, and flexibility
- Experience mentoring and elevating the craft of other designers, with a track record of raising the quality bar for teams
- Experience using AI tooling to support concept generation, ideation, and scaled image generation asset pipelines
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
- Background in consumer hardware, fashion, or luxury brand creative
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
- Experience bringing clarity to complex, ambiguous projects and processes — proactively working towards solutions
