Overview
What You’ll Be Doing
We are seeking a Mid-Level Full Stack Java Developer to join our team supporting a multi-year Federal contract. The developer will be a key member of an Agile/Scrum team responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining modern web applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Angular, REST APIs, and relational databases. Knowledge of Servlets and JSPs would be an added advantage.
The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, SQL and Angular with solid troubleshooting and design skills, the ability to independently deliver assignments, and preferably experience with legacy modernization and experience with IBM software (WAS & IHS).
In this role, you will work across multiple application layers, diagnose and resolve production issues, contribute actionable feedback during code reviews, and collaborate with developers, architects, testers, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable application enhancements.

Responsibilities
-
Participate throughout the Agile software development lifecycle, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, development, testing, deployment, and retrospective activities.

Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Spring/Spring Boot.

Develop and maintain responsive web applications using AngularTypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.
-
Design and implement RESTful web services and APIs using Spring Boot.
-
Develop application components following established coding standards, design patterns, and development best practices.
-
Work with relational databases, including Oracle / SQL Server, and develop efficient SQL queries and database integrations.
-
Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across development, test, and production environments.
-
Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving application quality, performance, security, and maintainability.

Translate functional requirements into technical designs and implementation tasks.
-
Collaborate with architects, developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders to deliver application enhancements.

Develop unit and integration tests and support automated testing activities.
-
Maintain and enhance existing and legacy applications while incrementally introducing modern Spring and Angular technologies when they improve maintainability, reliability, or delivery efficiency.

Participate in application deployment and production support activities.

Mentor junior developers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.

Create and maintain technical documentation, application flow diagrams, and implementation guides that support development, deployment, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer.

Identify and implement improvements that strengthen application performance, reliability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience and 6+ years of software/application development experience, mainly within Java & within the Spring ecosystem including: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data/JPA/Hibernate

REST APIs

Strong front-end development experience with Angular and strong knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.
-
Experience developing and consuming RESTful web services.
-
Experience with SQL and relational databases, preferably Oracle.
-
Experience with JSON and XML.
-
Strong experience with Apache Maven, including pom.xml configuration, dependency management, plugins, profiles, build lifecycle, and packaging/deployment.

Experience with Git-based source control and collaborative development.
-
Understanding software development lifecycle and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
-
Experience with legacy application modernization
-
Experience with unit testing and automated testing practices.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Skills:

Experience with Azure cloud services.
-
Experience with Docker and containerized applications.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools.

Experience with GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD tools.
Additional Information:
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S Perm Resident or U.S. Citizen.
Based on eligibility and job status, Cadmus offers an excellent benefits package to include: medical, dental, vision, company paid disability and life insurance, 401(k) program, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, voluntary time off (VTO), tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance program, other optional benefits and various bonus programs.
The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $145,000. The actual salary will be determined by several factors, including relevant work experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
