Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Project Structural Engineer to join PorterCorp in Holland, MI. This role will support the design and engineering of custom steel structures for the Poligon and CEAS+ product lines. The ideal candidate will have 1-4 years of structural engineering experience, strong engineering fundamentals, and the ability to independently perform structural analysis, develop calculations, and engineer solutions that meet applicable building codes and customer requirements. This position offers exposure to a wide variety of structural projects and opportunities for continued professional growth toward PE licensure.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university

  • 1-4 years of structural engineering experience

  • EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months

  • Experience performing structural analysis and structural calculations

  • Knowledge of structural building codes (IBC, ASCE, AISC, etc.)

  • Experience with structural analysis software such as RISA-3D, STAAD, SAP2000, or similar

  • Strong engineering fundamentals and understanding of steel design

  • Self-motivated with the ability to solve problems independently Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • EIT certification or PE license (or actively pursuing PE)

  • Experience with pre-engineered metal buildings, canopies, shade structures, awnings, or similar steel products

  • Familiarity with seismic design principles

  • Manufacturing or fabrication industry experience Experience reviewing or mentoring junior engineers
