General Description:

The Manager, Global Supply Chain Capabilities is responsible for the day-to-day operational management and support of key supply chain systems and processes across the Global Commercial Supply Chain organization located in United States (remotely). This role serves as a primary operational point of contact for SAP order management, logistics and distribution, SAP Transportation, product serialization, and related supply chain applications.

The position requires a strong supply chain process knowledge with hands on experience in SAP system proficiency. The individual will manage the operational support workload across SAP subcontracting order management, inbound and outbound logistics, transportation management, product serialization, and integration points with SAP Quality Management and Finance/Accounting. Production planning knowledge is preferred.

This role owns the operational backbone of the team by managing day-to-day system support, ensuring consistent service delivery, maintaining process continuity, and driving timely resolution of operational issues. The scope encompasses the full cycle of operational demand, from ticket intake and triage through resolution and communication, across both Commercial and Clinical Supply Chain functions.

The ideal candidate must possess a strong understanding of Commercial and Clinical Supply Chain end-to-end processes, including supply execution, logistics management, distribution operations, and system-enabled business process support. The ability to execute independently in a fast-paced, ticket-driven environment is required. Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including GxP compliance requirements, is a must.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Serve as the primary owner of day-to-day operational support for SAP order management, logistics and distribution, transportation management, product serialization, and related supply chain applications, including ticket intake, triage, prioritization, resolution, and stakeholder communication.

  • Provide operational support for SAP-enabled supply chain processes, including order management, subcontracting order management, inbound and outbound logistics, inventory movements, transportation activities, and integration points with Quality Management and Finance/Accounting.

  • Monitor and support logistics and distribution processes to ensure timely issue resolution, process continuity, and accurate execution across Commercial and Clinical Supply Chain operations.

  • Track, prioritize, and report on operational workload, including ticket volumes, aging items, resolution times, completion rates, recurring issues, and service-level trends to support team capacity planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with GTS, Finance, Manufacturing, Quality, Commercial Operations, Clinical Supply Chain, and external partners to resolve cross-functional data issues, system discrepancies, process exceptions, and integration gaps.

  • Maintain and update standard operating procedures, work instructions, process maps, training materials, and system documentation for all supported processes, tools, and operational workflows.

  • Participate in testing, validation, and deployment-readiness activities for system updates, patches, enhancements, configuration changes, and new feature deployments across SAP, serialization, transportation, and related supply chain applications.

  • Support ad hoc operational reporting, root-cause analysis, and business insights requested by team leadership to inform issue resolution, process optimization, and strategic decision-making.

  • Identify recurring support issues, process gaps, data-quality concerns, and manual workarounds, and recommend improvements to strengthen operational efficiency, compliance, and user experience.

  • Provide guidance and support to super users and end users, including issue resolution, process clarification, training support, and knowledge sharing across Commercial and Clinical Supply Chain teams.

Other Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of supply chain execution and planning processes, including order management, supply planning, inventory management, transportation & logistics management.

  • Familiarity with both Commercial Supply Chain and Clinical Supply Chain business processes and operational requirements.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks in a ticket-driven workflow.

  • Knowledge of GxP systems, validation requirements, data integrity expectations, and regulatory compliance requirements within pharmaceutical operations.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively across global and cross-functional teams.

  • Experience supporting system enhancements, user acceptance testing, change control, validation documentation, or release deployment activities preferred.

  • Travel: Not required

Computer Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with SAP ERP platforms (S/4HANA preferred), SAP Transportation, product serialization applications, logistics execution tools, and other supply chain systems in an operational or support capacity.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years progressive experience in Supply Chain Operations, Logistics, Planning Support, Supply Chain Systems, or related capabilities within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry.

  • Master’s degree and 4+ years of relative experience preferred
