  • Install hydraulic systems that operate dump bodies, plows, and ice management equipment, including hoses, fittings, and related components.

  • Use appropriate tools, including large wrenches and sockets suitable for diesel and heavy hydraulic fittings, to complete installations.

  • Perform welding tasks as part of mechanical assembly and fabrication work when required.

  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area in the shop environment.

  • Collaborate with other team members in the shop to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.

  • Use hand tools, air tools, power tools, and battery tools to perform mechanical and electrical installation tasks.

  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and maintenance repair on installed systems to ensure proper operation.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to perform wire testing, troubleshooting, and custom fabrication for component mounting.

  • 1+ year of mechanical assembly or installation experience.

  • 1+ year of welding experience (does not need to be production or regular welding).

  • 1+ year of hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical assembly or installation experience.

  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with hand and power tools.

  • Strong attendance and reliability.

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and collaborate.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with car alarms or remote start systems is a plus.

  • Experience installing or working with two-way radios is beneficial.

  • Experience in automotive electrical systems or related fields is advantageous.

  • Experience with diesel mechanic tools, especially larger wrench and socket sizes, is helpful for hydraulic installations.

  • Familiarity with welding, installation assembly, mechanical assembly, electrical installation, and blueprint reading.

  • Ability to fabricate metal using manual brake presses, punch presses, ironworkers, saws, drills, and plasma cutters.

  • Ownership of a rolling toolbox with a basic mechanics tool set, including sockets, wrenches, hand tools, and basic air, power, and battery tools.
