Job Description

This engineer will serve as the dedicated software resource supporting the client's growing OSM organization, partnering directly with project managers and shop leaders to identify operational challenges and build scalable software solutions. The ideal candidate is a strong TypeScript developer with proven experience designing, deploying, and supporting production web applications while maintaining GitHub governance and development standards. This individual will function as both an engineer and consultant, working closely with end users to develop scheduling, operations, and workflow applications that drive efficiency across the business. Candidates with manufacturing exposure, AI experience, or a passion for building practical internal software solutions will thrive in this highly visible, innovative role.

Day-to-Day: Support the Off-Site Manufacturing (OSM) organization as its dedicated software engineer Partner directly with OSM project managers to identify operational pain points and software opportunities Sit with end users and act as an embedded consultant to understand business needs Build and enhance internal production web applications, primarily in TypeScript Own full application lifecycle: Design Development Testing Deployment Documentation Support Maintenance Administer and govern the OSM GitHub organization while establishing standards and guardrails for citizen developers Evaluate internally-created applications for security, governance, and deployment readiness Develop scheduling, operational, materials, and workforce management applications for OSM teams Participate in daily standups and collaborate closely with Jerome and the Corporate Development Team Work with centralized data platforms, APIs, databases, and engineering standards established by the core team Validate solutions with users and continuously improve applications based on feedback

Skills and Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of professional software engineering experience with production applications

  • Strong TypeScript experience and modern web application development EX: Strong GitHub experience: Repositories Branching strategies Pull Requests Code Reviews GitHub Actions Releases Repository governance and security

  • Experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting web applications

  • Experience working collaboratively on application teams

  • Ability to take applications from concept through deployment and maintenance

  • Experience working with APIs and existing services

  • CI/CD and production support experience

  • SQL and relational database experience

  • Ability to work directly with business users and gather requirements

  • Strong communication and consulting mindset

  • Comfortable creating guardrails, governance policies, and secure development standards AI application development experience Python experience, particularly related to AI or data services React, Next.js, Azure, Containers, or Infrastructure-as-Code experience Experience building AI/LLM solutions people actively adopted Manufacturing, fabrication, industrial construction, or shop-floor experience C# experience Citizen Developer platform experience Experience implementing security reviews, governance standards, and application validation processes
