Job Category:Faculty Employment Type:Regular Job Profile:Assistant Professor Job Summary: This position will see patients at Madison UW Health Clinics and will provide clinical teaching for learners in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Additionally, this position may include patient care duties at UW Regional Services Clinics. Clinical research and/or academic service is also expected. The candidate has the option of combining glaucoma clinical care with comprehensive ophthalmology or other sub-specialty eye care. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every four years. Key Job Responsibilities: - Develop and establish an independent research program - Pursue and obtain extramural funding for research program - Provide high quality patient care at UW Health Madison and potentially Regional Services Clinics in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, including medical and surgical care - Participate in resident/medical student/fellowship education in the clinic and in the operating room. - Perform administrative duties as appropriate. - Participate in professional, public and university service as appropriate.
