Assistant Professor (Tenure track) - Computer Science
FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Position Details
The Computer Science Department at City College of New York is inviting applications for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level. Each selected candidate will lead a variety of teaching and research activities in computer science, collaborating with faculty members.
Applicants in all areas of computer science will be considered. Areas of particular interest include theory and software fundamentals, data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cybersecurity, computer architecture, programmable and adaptive systems, and parallel and distributed computing.
Successful candidates will be expected to establish and sustain an independent research program, teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor students at all levels, and contribute to the overall academic community within the department. The recruitment committee will evaluate all demonstrative and evidential achievements that candidates can provide to meet these academic missions.
As a department within the Grove School of Engineering, the City College Computer Science Department undergraduate and graduate curriculum and research activities of its faculty reflect synergies with engineering fields that differentiate its programs within the City University system.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field.
Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarly achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching and the ability to present strong and sustainable research programs with credible prospects for external support appropriate to their fields.
COMPENSATION
Assistant Professor: $94,017 - $114,091
Salaries above the contractual base are available commensurate with experience and PSC-CUNY contract.
